Our story

About YADAMA

Humanitarian relief and long-term rehabilitation support that restores dignity, independence and hope.

Founded on dignity, opportunity and compassionate care

YADAMA Relief & Rehabilitation Foundation was founded on the belief that every individual deserves dignity, opportunity and access to compassionate care.

During a visit to Sierra Leone in 2022, our founder visited a local hospital's stroke rehabilitation department and witnessed a shortage of safe rehabilitation equipment. She recognised the urgent need for long-term rehabilitation support and established YADAMA to improve access to humanitarian relief and rehabilitation services for vulnerable communities.

The Foundation is dedicated to the memory of the founder's beloved grandmother, whose generosity, kindness and compassion continue to inspire our work.

A professional vision, shaped by firsthand experience

YADAMA was founded by a UK-based Occupational Therapist with a vision to improve access to humanitarian relief and long-term rehabilitation services for vulnerable individuals in Sierra Leone.

Inspired by firsthand experience in a Sierra Leone hospital's stroke rehabilitation department, the Foundation is committed to restoring dignity, promoting independence and enabling people to participate in the meaningful activities of everyday life.

Her clinical insight and community commitment guide an approach that connects immediate relief with practical, sustainable rehabilitation support.
